Lighting Pakistan partner expands its services in Sindh

Lighting Pakistan, in collaboration with Brighterlite, one of its distribution associates, held a trade event in Jacobabad, Sindh on March 13th. The event was designed to help Brighterlite build awareness and retail network for its Jacobabad franchisee.

The event had participation from over 100 attendees, including local distributors, traders, retailers, and NGOs.  By the end of the event, 10 retailers had signed up to become partners, each of which will be able to provide services to approximately 2000+ homes.

Representatives from Lighting Pakistan and Brighterlite presented and fielded questions at the half-day event.

Lighting Pakistan Program Coordinator, Ibrar Hussain Khattak, explained the role of the program in ensuring the quality of products and in supporting associates to make inroads in local markets. He said, “Lighting Pakistan continues to support its partners in creating consumer awareness and attracting interest in affordable, quality verified, safe and durable solar products.”

Head of Sales & Distribution Brighterlite, Altaf Khadim emphasized the tremendous potential that the Jacobabad market presented, “More than one-third the population in Jacobabad is living in off grid areas, and our products can transform their daily lives.”  He explained at length Brighterlite’s business model and incentives system for its franchisees and retail partners.

In his presentation, Brighterlite’s franchisee in Jacobabad, Mohammad Jan Odhano, attributed his initial success to the support he was receiving from the company. He was of the view that Brighterlite’s rental model made its products affordable for the local communities, but at the same time business development required grassroots marketing to build trust.

Brighterlite plans to conduct induction trainings for new retail partners in the area from March 24th till April 14th.
